Giving Day Recap!

An Inspiring Day for the Uplift Community

Our Uplift community is powerful. This has never been truer than during this year’s Giving Day on September 4th. It’s absolutely incredible what a strong community like ours is capable of, especially when united for one, important cause: transforming the lives of women and children in crisis. Giving Day 2025 was further proof that this mission is possible.

Donations from many states across the country poured in on Giving Day to raise money for our deserving applicants. An exceptional $32,519 was gifted to Uplift, quickly exceeding our goal for the entire day. It’s because of donors, like you, that we can accomplish a feat such as this.

Through a series of challenges and competitions, donors were inspired to fundraise for the chance to win prizes or match potential donations from sponsors. The Uplift community showed up in astounding numbers to support this mission. These challenges inspired donations ranging from $5, to over $5,000, each cent helping surpass our goal and support our mission. The amount of money raised from all of you is exceptional, and will directly go to the women and children who ask for our help.

But our work is not over yet! Nearly $1.5 dollars has been requested this year from Uplift’s applicants. Of those 614 women who requested grants, most are single mothers who need our grants to support their families, in the hopes of providing a better life for themselves and for their children. So far this year, Uplift has only been able to fund 9% of the women asking for our aid. With help from you, we will work tirelessly to raise the funds needed, to help more of these women every day.

It’s crucial that we continue to raise money for the rest of the women all over the country that haven't been able to receive our help, yet. On Giving Day, we all proved what we’re capable of fundraising in support of these women. It is our purpose and mission at Uplift to keep this work going for the generations of women around us.

Nicole Benquechea is a volunteer from California who serves on Uplift’s Fundraising committee. She said it best in a Giving Day video on Uplift’s Instagram:

“I believe when a woman continues to rise she lifts many generations behind her, including her children, her community, and the whole world.”

This was certainly the case on September 4th, as we will continue to advocate for all our grant recipients. Nicole is just one of the many people in Uplift’s community who help create this exceptional change on behalf of our grant applicants. Without Nicole, and donors like you, this work wouldn't be possible.

From everyone at Uplift, we cannot thank you enough for all your support to our community on Giving Day. We simply could not do this work without you. As Nicole said, let’s keep this fight going and continue to uplift the communities around us. When we work together, there’s nothing that isn’t possible!

It’s never too late to support Uplift’s mission. For more information on how to donate, please visit https://www.upliftingwomen.org/donate.
